I am running Microsoft Project 98 SR-1 on Windows 2000. When I try to do a "Save as" from the File menu I get an error message instead of the "Save as" dialog box. The error message is: "There is not enough memory to display the Save dialog box." In the error message dialog box I am prompted to save the project files as a temp (.tmp) file. When I go into Windows explorer and change the .tmp to .mmp I am able to open the project as per usual.

Anyone know what could be causing the error?

typically, ou recieve this message when project was not installed. Ie. copied from another computer. You appear to be missing files.

Have you tried leaving the .tmp extension (or renaming it back to .tmp) and opening your projects in that format?

You might also try rebooting your computer if you are getting those kind of error messages and see if it starts working again. It is possible that you have some software on the computer with a serious resource leak that is draining your system's GDI resources (using memory and never releasing it - even after closing).
