Dear all,
I got a client request to use s355j2+N as doubler pad for pipe,
My concern is about equivalent material for S355j2 +N which belongs to European standards,
I have made a search from my end and i came across sa-572 having equivalent mechanical properties,
but i can't find specifications for sa-572 in section 2 part D of properties ,so i came to a conclusion that this material cannot be used for boilers and pressure vessels but not with complete confidence because material was mentioned in Section 2 part A.
But in reference document list of sa-572 it was mentioned as below which led to more confusion between sa-36 and sa-572,
Referenced Documents
A 36/A 36M Specification for Carbon Structural Steel
does sa-36 covers sa-527,
but der chemical composition and mechanical properties doesn't match ,
Are they linked to each other only because they are used for structural purpose
Can we use sa-572 for boiler and pressure vessel and for piping,
Regards,
Stephen
