S.I.F value in stub-in connection (pipe to pipe connections)

Hi Dear All,
I have some misunderstandings about S.I.F value.
1- What is the S.I.F value for following items and what is the difference between them:
• Standard Tee (ASME B16.9)
• Unreinforced Tee
• Branch connection (stub-in connection)

2- When using the Pipeplus© (Pipepack®) software (V9.3), which of the following or any other combinations is defined for the S.I.F value in stub-in connection?
• Standard Tee + S.I.F value
• Unreinforced Tee
• Branch connection (stub-in connection)

I would highly appreciate any response and introducing useful articles regarding my problem.

The S.I.F. that you should use is defined by the piping code that has jurisdiction for your installation.

I'm familiar with ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3. Assuming that you are using ASME B31.3, Process Piping, refer to Appendix D, Flexibility and Stress Intensification Factors for graphical descriptions of each type connection as well as the equations to calculate the SIFs.

Most pipe stress programs calculate this automatically when selecting the correct branch type and input data.
