Rubble Masonry/Gravity Stone retainig walls

I am looking for specifications and software programs to guide me in the design of several Rubble Stone/Masonry gravity retaining walls. What specifications are there for this type of wall and what programs could be used to back up hand calculations for this type of retaining wall structure?

Just design it as a simple gravity retaining wall with zero tension in the outside face. Check your sliding and overturning and you're done. You will need to batter one face of the wall in order to get sufficient bearing at the base and also to increase your lever arm to get sufficient overturning resisting using the weight of the stone and the soil. I think Ch 18 of IBC calls for minimum thickness of 16". So your top will be 16" and batter to the ground will be based on your bearing, overturning and sliding calculations.

There used to be a masonry design manual from about 40 years ago that had gravety retaining wall designs. The title has long since faded into the background. It had a gray green cover and was two or three inches thick... maybe someone recalls.
