Roll Paper Storage

I am looking for a little clarification on the definitions of "Closed Array", "Standard Array", and "Open Array" as defined in NFPA 13 for roll paper storage. As well, when they are talking about columns, I am assuming they are talking about paper, is this correct.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
