Has anyone had experience designing a front suspension that provides a significant amount of roller camber compensation? Would anyone care to comment on why designing a suspension with a lot of positive caster and mechanical trail will give superior performance during cornering and turn-in?

Thanks,

The higher the castor angle, the more negative camber on turn in.

Yes Pat,

This means that some degree of compensation can be achieved with positive caster (or mechanical trail) when a large KPI is required or desired (to reduce scrub radius). To run a bunch of caster so the benefits really pay off means power assisted steering will be almost mandatory for all but the lightest vehicles. Would you agree that this approach is key to a vehicle that turns in really well?

I always like a car to turn in well, with fast steering response, and among other things I like a lot of castor, and reasonable power assist, but maybe that is just me as few cars come this way.

I am not a suspension expert, and my original comment was from my experience getting my cars how I like them. I do not feel qualified to expand into more detail.
