I can't see neoprene holding up in the long term.

Pros: Durability (Reliability), Damage Tolerance, No external corrosion allowance

Cons: Cost, Availability

Polychloroprene around 15 mm or more, dependent upon metocean conditions, appears to have acceptable performance. Never had to deal with a monel clad riser although some operators have specifications for them in addition to those that they have for polychloroprene.

I missed another pro for monel: the finished pipe will not have to be shipped to and from a coating plant

I would use solid MONEL for everything, Ahmed ... You cannot be too safe ... Corrosion is 24/7

The whole pipeline, or just the splash zone?
