I'm reverse engineering a component that controls an electronic valve that regulates the amount of DEF going in exhaust of a diesel vehicle. One of the components is a ring that a materials lab verified is 99.99% pure silver with no other discernible constituents.

Not surprisingly all our vendors are no-quoting the part. Has anyone ever dealt with manufacturing a pure metal like this? Where would you even purchase pure silver to begin with?

310toumad,

Do you understand why the ring is %100 silver? Electrical conductivity? Thermal conductivity? Pure silver is only somewhat better than pure copper.

Have your vendors told you why they won't quote the part? Silver is expensive. Are they trying to not shock you?

IF you need it find someone in your area that custom makes jewelry.
Silver is easy to work with.
Did you cut the part up? Are you sure that it isn't Cu with Ag platting?
Cu will not like DEF, so it would need to be protected.

If it is a silver plated sealing ring made from stainless or copper Swagelock and others sell them.
