I am in the process of reverse engineering a spline.
this is what I know so far
module is 2, it has 24 teeth, it is the male part, the od measures 49.5MM, the minor dia is 45.25MM

This is where i get stumped, I don't know what din standard it is.
I am used to reverse engineering ansi splines, i use pins and can find the tooth thickness ect. and go from there.
However, with the din 5480-1 standard i have, I do not see any way of calculating the pin diameter. Nor, do I see a way to related over pin measurement to class fit. Is there a formula I don't see? Any help is greatly appreciated.

John

In DIN 5480 part 6 (Involute spline joints - 30° pressure angle - Basic dimensions and test dimensions for module 2) you'll probably find what you need.
This info is valid for the October 1991 edition of that standard.

Bingo! thanks, that is exactly what i needed. Just needed a little nudge in the right direction.
