Hello everyone,

I am looking to generate some response spectra for some MDOF models on Femap.

As of now, I have been using Transient Dynamic/Time History Analysis and then exporting the accelerations at the desired node to create a floor response spectrum using my own Matlab code. However, I would like to streamline this process. I have followed the native Femap help in the program for response spectrum generation down to every detail but I am certain that either I am not doing it right, or that it is wrong.

I am also aware of the procedure for creating response spectra using NASTRAN, but I would like to be able to use the interface of Femap.

Has anyone had any success with generating response spectrum solely using Femap?

Thanks to anyone that answered. I appreciate your time and effort.

Best,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Did you get the correct answer from the Example tutorials? It would probably be helpful to have some pictures or even a representative sample of your model. Anything that you can share to help diagnose the problem. I would also suggest asking your question on our FEMAP User Community as well where people love to help solve these types of probelms!

Best,
Ryan
