Hi, i am doing an analysis on a vertical vessel with skirt support and compression ring. In the output processor, in the basering calculations, the required skirt thickness calculation was calculated using Brownell and Young equation 10.59.

I tried to calculate manually but unable to get the same result as calculated by PV Elite. The value showed in red did not tally with the calculation from the equation. How PV Elite actually calculate this value?

Dont use the values shown in calculation as is, You need to convert units to harmonize and you'll definitely get the answer.

As the software calculates internally in customary units, while displays the equations & values as per your units.

Thanks,
