Hi RD

great pic, I like the soft shadows and the white room, makes the pens jump right out of the screen. Excellent work, and all done without ARX? It just goes to show what can be done when you know what your doing. As for me, I'll just keep trying lol

fantastic work, well done

Steven

i have a question, does anyone know if it is possible to cast shadows onto the wall in the cylindrical room? I am using a jpg as a bump-map background and have shadows on the floor but not the wall. I have basic Pro-E, no ARX, I cant even control the light intensity!?!?!?!?

Red Devil,Top Job mate well done

Good one. Was render done with Pro/E or some other software? I love floor color, can you share with us its proprieties?

rydanlav25
Yes you can. When you create new light, use option Cast Shadow, also in render setup turn on Self Shadows.
Although I do have ARX so because of that I can create shadows, but give a try and let us know

Hey RD,

I like the render, I get what you say about the pen colour, when I rendered the pens, I found it a little tricky to fully simulate the fluorescent nature of each pen, but it can be done with a little patience eh!

Keep up the good work pal!

Regards,

I have decided to post this previous render. Its taking me so long to get my computer up and running for my modeling that I thought I would share this with everyone. I am going to get my 20" widescreen monitor tonight so I should be back to work at home soon.

Great render, I take it this is part of your Bel-Air project? If so, well done, you have a great flair for adding a modern twist to classic cars.

Thanks guys. I just got my desk and monitor last night, 21 inch widescreen LCD, WOOHOO. Because of the negative feedback I got from my initial video card I upgraded. I dont recall which one it is exactly but it was one of the best cards I could buy so it's no chump card and should do a great job. I still have to route the wires and stuff, still havent been able to turn the computer on but will be able to tonight.

thanks for the compliments.

A few people sent me a message asking me what I upgraded to for a video card so here are the details.

ATI Radeon X850 PRO

12 parallel rendering pipelines, 256MB GDDR3 memory, AGP 8x support, DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL 2.0 support, 3Dc technology, SMARTSHADER HD technology

This computer spins the Mustang like its one protrusion and renders a 1680x1050 very high resolution render in less than 30 minutes.

Great VGA ... Mypal has this card and I saw when this stuff working and I have to say that this is really powerful card and big Advantage of this stuff is Full support for AGP8xPRO..When you want to upgradeyou dont need new motherboard for PCI-Express slot.
smiley23.gif
....I have old legendof Radeon's which took down the mass ofnVidia cardsin tests> AtiRadeon9800XT 128 MB GDDR3. 8 pipelines. 256Bit.

Justfor your info CP... Your 256MB Operating Memory is useful for high resolution rendering for quicker cumputing(I meanthe resolutionsup then1280x1024...).

But remember this card is not assigned for CAD systems but for gaming. Professional VGA cards assigned for CAD systems and rendering are>

Ati platform

http://www.ati.com/products/fireglt2-128/

nVidia platform

http://www.nvidia.com/page/quadro2pro.html

BUT of course these cards are very expensive..
smiley18.gif
..But I think that you have enough informations about that.

. Your rendering's smooth. I really like it.

Keepgood work up.

Best regards.

Yeah MIKO, for the price this card is hard to beat for whathave seen that it can do. I am amazed how fast it will zoom and spin the Mustang, i've never seen a faster computer with Pro-e.

Thanks Foolmankh, much appreciated.

Hi Miko!!!!

Good work!!!
smiley32.gif

I think that you should plate triangle by chrome that makesview's better.Andwasher's also.

Keep it up Miko.

Best regards

Nice models & render Miko, especially with the basic renderer.

I think you should render the materials as they would actually be, otherwise it's not really photo-realistic.

Just my two pennies worth.
