Your best bet is to have a print shop like KINKO's print it for you. ACtually if you are looking for a larger print I can render it larger for you or custome if you are gonna put it ona poster board for a present. Like i said in previous posts i've not really any experience of rendering, or notlike the ones you produce shouldI say! and work dont have ARX and wont invest,ive got personal version of WF2 on my workstation at home i've just got a fx1100 and new monitorand want to do it justice! How did you learn the fundamentals and do you know any decent sites for tutorials having a hard time finding them and last but not least how do you rate the standard rendering extension in wf2?


I'll get back to you tommorowto let you know aboutprint results!

Be sure you post a digital pic up here with the poster on the wall. I really dont know of any tutorial sites. I do remember some time back JAMES posted what looked to be a pretty good tutorial for rendering. I dont remember if it was for regular or ARX. My honest opinion between ARX and Standard...they are as different as night and day. Photorender does eye-wowing pics for your standard everyday person that never sees graphics. But it just doesnt do anything for people who really want to see some good renders and not just decent. ARX can get you fairly close to photorealisitc renders.

Aint had chance to go the printers today mate hoping to make it tommorow (birthdays not till nxt week!) will definetely post pics of finished article, gonna get a copy for my room! although i aint got a digital camera but can probably borrow works, I have got a 1.3 megapixel one on my mobile phone if worst comes to worst.

p.s will looks at james tutorial and that side render looks great! where did you get the image on the bonnet? did u add it as decal?

Yes, all the images were created in Photoshop (not the devil, that is courtesy of another unknown artist) then applied as decals. You wait long enough you might get to use a better render.

Here is another rendering update. The last black image was too reflective but now I just realized that the windows became solid somehow...oh well.

OK so I have digit up some of my first project from collage where I was using ProE, put it in W3 and render it. All materials that I have used in model are from W3, and everything looks great except maybe this green paint on chassis. I was unable to find control of amount roughens in paint -didn't I see it or there isn't any?
So here is result:

I too look around and see people doing as little as possible; just enough to get by. It can be very frustrating. Isair, there is a properties drop down in your texture mapping that will let you set the bump height. That is where you will need to adjust the paint.


Those renders look really good PJW, great lighting. Maybe take the shininess down a little on the floor so it doesnt take away from your model. Great work tho.

Hi Everybody! Great work all round!


Some of you know me and know I have a small bit of rendering knowledge but I'm by no means an expert!


Anyway, Since the topic is Rendering Q&A and Gallery, I said I'd ask a question! I'm having trouble getting good results in 2 particularareas..

1. 
   <LI>renderingwith a White (not pure white but like you would see from a professional photographer in a "White"studio, in reality it's a white floor, almost white light and the fall off is used to create soft shadows) you can see the shadows on the floor, but the image is all about the model.</LI>
   <LI>andapplying Decals! (we wont worry too much about this area for the moment although Cain if you want to shed some light it'd be appriciated!) </LI>

I would like to throw down the gauntlet and challenge anybody to create a rendering of anything really, and put it on a white background. similar to these photos....
