Relief out of Check Valve Body...

I'm not sure what the rules say about double posting, so I'm posting this link to a post I'm getting no nibbles on in the Valve Engineering section... Link .
It is about a Relief Valve threaded into the body of a Check Valve.

Anyone have any experience/knowledge to share?

I think you are describing a load holding valve. If this is a critical application look at Sun Valves. They have just what you need already designed and available.
 
Sorry, not clear enough here without going into the other thread...
This is a 3"Ø swing check valve with a ½"x1" relief valve that appears to be mounted into the check via a threaded boss on the check valve body. I can't see much due to insulation. This is carrying -28°F liquid ammonia.
