Hello,

I have a logic board that controls the stroke of a chemical pump made by Pulsa Feeder. I would like to have it's transistor based dry contact 24vdc solid state opto isolated output fire a relay.

Can I use a standard 24vdc coil relay or do I need a special "plc type relay" ??

On the schematic layout of the logic board, it shows the digital output as VCC (5-32vdc) with a 400 ohm resistor on the + terminal.

I'm a bit lost. Any help would really be appreciated !!

Thanks,

Seems to me you need to purchase a standard solid state relay with the type output you need to run whatever you are trying to run.

More info = more help.

What do you want this relay to do?

Sounds almost like an open collector output designed for a relay with a coil of 400[Ω] or greater and a coil voltage of 5 - 32V DC.

Can you upload the circuit following the guidance in faq559-1100? That would help greatly.

Hello,

Thank you itsmoked and ScotyUK for your responses. I was trying to avoid buying a separate din mounted 24vdc powersupply and a normal 24vdc coil relay and find a product that would combine both.

The print did show a 400 ohm resistor connected to the output from the chem pump, which would be in series with a 24vdc voltage source AND a 24vdc coil relay.

Hope I haven't confused anyone too much. I'll try to post a picture today sometime.

Take care,

Mark
