I currently have this motorcycle with a rear drum brake. I am hoping to do redesign the hub to accommodate a rear disc brake with the calipers mounted on the swingarm. Does anyone have and comments or suggestions as to where to start? Thanks.
Buy a complete assembly from some other model that has approximately the same rear wheel size, but already has a disk brake. Have a look at the way rear brake calipers are mounted on existing production models.
I'm with Brian. There a loads of used wheels on Ebay or Craig's list that will have a disc brake fitted. You just need to match up axle diameter and probably make a spacer or two to get it centered. The hardest part will be attaching a caliper to the swing arm. Don't go overboard on wheel width or you might run into a clearance problem with the chain.
