I've been using 'real view' for a while, but all of a sudden the icon is greyed out. I have not changed drivers or updated SolidWorks in any way. I can assign materials to a component but now the real view radio button is checked but greyed out. Even view/diplay/Realview Graphics is greyed out. There is an option to turn off real view in large assy mode, but I could find no such global setting for individual parts. Using nVidia FX3000, SW2004 sp 5.

Any suggestions?

Are you sure Windows update hasn't automatically updated the video driver for you?

We have windows update disabled, but I just checked and the nVidia driver is still installed.

Try opening SW and creating a simple cube or something to assign a material to. This is to rule out your project being loaded lightweight or having reached large assembly limits.

Using version 6.14.10.4546. Hasn't worked since last Friday.
Opened SolidWorks this morning, real view is working again. Haven't changed anything to fix it.
I shut down every night before going home, restart every morning.
Who knows.

I never shut my PC's down, it's better to keep them running IMO. If they need a reboot, then I reboot them but seldom do I shut them down. Try keeping it up a few days and see what happens.

FYI - that driver is not supported and could be part of the issue. You should be using either 53.03 or 67.22
