Has anyone been involved with detailing reinforcement in the concrete foundations of an air core filter reactor? Such devices generate significant magnetic fields and there are known instances where these have induced electric currents in closed loops of reinforcing steel which has lead to heating effects that have damaged the concrete. However I'm getting conflicting views of what the specific requirement is i.e. is it to prevent the rebar forming a closed metallic loop or is it to prevent it forming a closed magnetic loop? The use of austenitic stainless steel for example would comply with the latter requirement (being non-magnetic) but not the former.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
