Does anyone have any suggestions on which raster to vector software to use? I have searched online and even tried a couple of free trial versions of some inexpensive programs (ie. Image2Cad). There seems to be quite a few programs on the market. The only brand name I recognized was Autodesk Raster Design. It will be used primarily for laser cut art work. I will be using AutoCAD 2006 to import the .dxf files. Thank you for any suggestions! Carl

Try searching some other forums for this info. I know I've seen this question asked before in the SolidWorks forum, maybe also the drafting standards one too.

You may want to look at Bysoft Bytrace sold by Bystronic. It can take any image file and convert to a part as well as export it as a DXF.

Best of luck in your search

I'd search for Scan2CAD. There's a trial download available.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I actually ended up buying CorelDraw X3. It has a trace feature that will convert an image file to a cad file (raster to vector). It has a lot of other features that I haven't figured out how to use yet. So far I am very impressed with it.
