Can AQUA inside ABAQUS calculate random waves? For example, given the peak period and effective wave height, do I have to write my own code to calculate it?

Random waves can be modeled. Check the knowledge base article QA00000008353 "Generating random wave loading in Abaqus".

Sorry, I did not find a related article. I checked the ABAQUS help file and found that there are only AIRY waves and STOKES 5th order waves in AQUA. What do I have to do if I want to load a random wave force based on the JONSWAP spectrum? (Is it necessary to write a separate code to solve for it when the spectral peak period is known and there is a meaningful wave height, and is there a way for ABAQUS to do the loading just by entering the parameters?)

This article is crucial, it includes the files necessary to use this procedure. It's indeed based on the JONSWAP spectrum but the provided script internally converts the specified random wave data to a series of data lines for the *WAVE, TYPE=AIRY, WAVE PERIOD keyword.

However, the article, as many other in the DS Knowledge Base, might be available only to users with customer accounts.

Sorry, I still haven't found the article you are referring to in the ABAQUS help file. If you see it, could you provide a link to it? Thanks. I will try to write code to solve the problem of loading random waves based on JONSWAP spectra in the time domain.

Unfortunately, it’s only available in the Knowledge Base and apparently only for the customers. A link won’t make sense because you have to log in to a customer account to access the article.
