Getting Radiography Quality Castings in steel if the yield % is more than 50 - 55 % is not possible. Is it true ?
If yes, why ?
Please be more specific about the level of acceptance of defects to be qualified as a radiographically sound casting. There are different levels of acceptance starting from Level 1 to level 3. Yield of a casting cannot be directly related to the soundness of the casting. It will depend on the geometry of the casting and the methoding being done. If you have any specific item please provide the details and I shall be able to help you further.
Yet another point of caution Please remember that a radiographically sounf casting NEED NOT be hydraulically sound. Please exercise this caution.
