All Expertise,

I've an issue with Excess penetration, Looking all your comments,
My consortium partner, QA/QC- Inspector who has 15 years Experienced in Coal Fire Boiler, he rejected one 2" tube (SA213 T12) line RT film because of excessive penetration by measuring the dimension with a ruler and required the joint to be repaired.. But i don't think so if it mentioned in ASME

So, please let me know whether what he as been rejected is Acceptable or Not Acceptable.
if Acceptable where is mentioned the code?
Please clarify me.

Regards,
Prady

Reinforcement is the proper nomenclature and there is a Table defining same in ASME I. One problem in measuring reinforcement from a radiograph is that the image may be magnified somewhat and this must be taken into account; geometric unsharpness requirements are often not met. Because this weld is not subject to RT under the Code, the acceptance criteria is between the Manufacturer/Contractor and Owner.
