Before one year ago pressure vessel recived at site with U Stamped but recently noticed that anode brackets were missing , Now origional manufacturer arrived at site with new WPS/PQR temper bead welding that is exempted PWHT/hydrotesting for brackets installation which will be weld with vessel, please confirm any body is it R" Stamp required or not from National board ?

What are the requirements for the site regarding regulation of pressure vessels? In some locations, pressure vessels are not regulated by rule or law. However, it is good practice to require weld repairs of pressure vessels to be done either by a National Board R-Certificate holder or under API 510.

yes regulated by rule/law, which still not in service and National Board R certificate

aslam, if you are regulated by law and require code repairs, yes this would be a code repair and possibly an alteration. Do the original drawings include these brackets? Welding attachments directly to a pressure vessel are considered a code repair.

I would recommend always repairing ASME stamped vessels under NB 23 Part 3 (the NBIC).
