Hi folks.

I recently upgraded to SW2006.

I am doing some work for a guy and it seems that all of his assemblies cause a "sldbgproc" error. It pops up as a Windows error and wants to "Send" to Microsoft. If you close the pop-up, it does it again and continues. If you just move the pop-up out of the way you can continue working. None of the part files do this. My other assemblies don't do it either; just the assemblies from this one person.

I can't find any information on SolidWorks web site.

Anyone else ever have this problem? If so, how do I fix it?

Thanks!!

Maybe it means something like "solid background process" error--so perhaps the assembly is attempting to perform a macro or script, but cannot, since it's on a different machine with differing file paths, etc.

Just a guess.

sldbgproc is new with 2006
In order to speed up the responsiveness of SolidWorks, is now uses various processes for various tasks.

I haven't seen it run for assemblies, so I can't speak for your specific error,or its cause, but when a drawing is rebuilding, slbgproc runs in the background while still allowing solidworks.exe to respond to user commands.

Open your task manager, or equivelent, with SW running to see what I mean.

Remember...

The error also occurs when in drawings of the assemblies too.

Do you have any idea what would cause it to fail?
