I'm working with the same file (all solids) on two different machines both running ACAD 2002.

On one, when I'm in "Hidden" view, it does just that. I only see the visible edges of the solid parts. On the other machine, though, I also see a bunch of lines connecting various edges to other edges. It's pretty annoying.

Is there a setting to turn that off?

If I understand right, it sounds like a display silhouette.

Try this,
command: DISPSILH

and change the value...either (0 or 1)

Dizzy, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to make the difference.

If it curved objects, try ISOLINES=0

Here's a little bit more info.

The issue arises upon the command "shademode _h", not on "hide" command.

To be more descriptive, here's an example.

I have a block with a bolt-hole pattern in it. There are many lines connect the holes together along the X & Y axes, and connecting the holes to the corners of the block.

I see them on a machine running Win 2K but not on the machine running Win XP. I don't know any details about graphics cards, etc.
