quick calculation of acrylic thickness for pool?

Hi I am fitting a lip of acrylic to the drain side of a concrete pool to make it an infinity pool and need to calculate the minimum thickness that is required. See attached diagram...

You can calculate like an cantilever beam ...no problem ..
loaded pattern...triangular due to 400 mm water

Then you need allowable or design stress for Acrylic glass to determine the required thickness

Careful for the corners... the acrylic will 'creep' a bit under sustained loading.

Cross posting in multiple forums is prohibited. Keep that in mind.

With that said.. with an exposed height of only 400mm, the thickness requirement for this is going to be dominated by factors other than water pressure. People are going to lean on this, push off of it while swimming, etc etc. You need to plan for that.

Make it an inch thick, round the top to a 1/2" radius, sit back and enjoy!
