can I change the density of the granular materials along silo/bin height or not?

I assume that you are talking about modeling such materials as homogenous solids (not with DEM). In such case you can use distribution to specify spatial variation of the density in Abaqus/Standard analyses.

First you should create the distribution:
Tools —> Discrete Field —> Create —> Definition: Elements. Specify the default value and values for each element. Then go to material editor and choose this distribution in the Density tab.

I did what I understood from your advice, but there is a small problem appeared to me. I uploaded screenshots of them. I tried element ID with (element set, element number, and assembly name)…what is the solution for it?

Many thanks

In the "Element ID" field you should specify the number of particular element. Just keep in mind that in case of discrete fields created for assembly level or history objects (like loads or interactions) this has to be a complete name of the element in form of: part_instance_name.element_number.

*Part, name=Solids

*Instance, name=Solids-1, part=Solids

and the element number is 2410

Then it should be like that?

part_instance_Solids-1.element_2410

In this case it should be:

Solids-1.2410

Hello again:

Then what is the problem?!

Try with just the number: 2410. It should work now.
