Hello all,

Is it recommended to flush the top of purlin with top of truss? This is due to the constriction of truss height allowed by the architect. Would there be any issue there? The trusses and purlins are off steel.

Thank you.

cost would be the first thing that comes to mind. Flush framing connections are generally a bit more expensive, as well as additional erection labour. If you have anywhere that the purlins would need to cantilever to make an overhang would require some additional consideration.
