Hello
I'm looking for informations in order to predict the vibration levels of reciprocating pumps, especially triplex pump. I tried to use the same model as those for engine with reciprocating mass but it didn't work when i compared with measurements.
thanks a lot

Were the vibration measurements higher or lower than you expected? Some belt drive recips have whopping torque variations that cause some interesting reactions between compressor and driver. The inertial forces try to react against something. Often a huge inertia block is provided to keep the "vibration" amplitude low. If the block is light, or accidentally dimensioned to make it easy to "rock" the block, or the compressor mounting details are not stiff and direct, the compressor casing whirls around the CG with impresively large amplitude.
