I am performing observations of the metal decking before the insulation boards are installed, and the contractor performing the welds to the deck is burning a lot of holes through the deck, mostly the size of a dime except a few, maybe the size of a nickel. I typically don't see this many; it's like every 3rd weld at the bar joist. I have looked at SDI and can not find anything that states this is an issue. Does anyone know if this is a problem, or is this issue identified in some code that is not acceptable?
