I am looking for information and/or technical data on the projection welding of chrome plated carbon steel to non-plated carbon steel. We are looking to weld 3mm to 6mm thiick non-plated carbon steel to the end of chrome plated carbon steel rods. The rod diameter is approximately 8-10mm and tapers to a point for the projection welding process. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We had a steel reinforcement resitance welded in two places to a chrome plated 10mm diameter head restraint bar without any problem so it can be done. Details of the process however are a little more difficult to resurrect.

gdodd,
