Projected Curves

When I project curves onto a plane, I notice that when I go to the projected curves or select an entity, everything that was projected is highlighted (selected). If I wish to offset the geometry a specific distance and only grab a specific entity, how is that accomplished using the projected curves?

Select the curves to be projected with "Single curve" filter
