I ran a quick search for this topic but was unable to get my question answered. I am doing a senior design project for an outside company that requires me to make some modifications to some pretty complex models using Pro/E. Unfortunately my school only has the student edition, so my .prt and my .stp files will not load. Is there any way around this problem, perhaps a different extension that I could save it under? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

No, Commerical and academic intentions cannot be cross used , that is the way PTC has approached the whole product.

so, you cannot work on ProE files created by a company that uses commercial Pro/E using a student Pro/E.

there is no way out, but to use commericial license of Pro/E.

good luck

Check with your school Pro/E admin. There is a batch/script file that can convert student files into commercial files.

step files should open in proe you will not get mapped fetures though!!!!
