Hello,
I am trying to perform a Structural Transien Analysis in Ansys Workbench. The building I am trying to analyse is an ancient tower, built from large stones that are no bonded each other. To simulate it's behavior, I have simulated each stone whith a separate solid element, and the type of contacts between the stones are frictional, with 0,8 frictional coeeficient.
I am trying to simulate it's behavior during earthquake, so I have created a base where the tower is sitting, and I am aplying displacement to the base to see how the tower reacts. The problem is that in some point of the analysis, the stones are starting to "fly", even if ther is no movement in the z axys of the base. I have turned the weak springs option on, but the problem remains. Has anybody any idea why is this happening and how can I fix it?
Thank you very much for your help,
Greg
