Hello!
If you cast a new RC floor slab over the existing one....would you agree that putting an nylon foil on top of the old slab, before casting a new slab, would prevent two slabs from "sticking" to each other, and thus behaving as completely as two independent bodies?
Thank you

For the analysis purpose yes.. but the real behavior may differ depending on the surface texture of the old slab and friction factor of foil. Is this an elevated slab ? what is the reason for separation ? Is the new slab a kind of floating screed?

The reason of separation is that the analysis of the new slab did not take into the account the weight of the old slab....thus the fear of two slabs "sticking"
