pressure drop filter

Is there a way to calculate the pressure drop over a basket strainer. I know that suppliers can, but I want to do some calculations in advance in Excel or something.

I assume that based on flow, viscosity, filter area and mesh widt, this should be possible. Fluids are heavy fuel oils (newtonian fluids).

Depends on how much rubbish is has strained out at the time, but allow around a maximum of 25 psi loss at the design flow rate for a properly sized dirty strainer (dirty, not plugged). Calculate K and then ratio to other flowrates using Q = K * 25^0.5
