Hello NXers

Would anyone happen to know if I can find out what things/settings are saved with your NX profile? For example, if you turn a few extra menus on and exit NX, the next time you boot up, then the lay out will load from your profile as it was the last time you exited NX. Are there any others? Such as things you change in the preferences? or do you have to control these settings by giving our users the options to save their own .dpv file.

Many thanks

Best regards

It's not that easy since not everything is stored in the same place. For example, changes to your interface, such as turning ON or OFF some icons, these are saved a file called 'user.mtx' while many of the changes that you set in Preferences, such as the various Selection options or Modeling and Drafting preferences, these are saved in the system registry. And again others, such as changes to Customer Defaults, are stored in a .dpv file.

When I see that I have my settings the way that I want them I make sure they are not changed with the next time that I log off:
User Interface Preferences > Layout (tab) > Toggle "save layout at exit" to off
