PQR for two different base metals

Hi

If we have a PRQ for two different base metals, say P#1 to P#8, does this PRQ also qualify welding P#1 to P#1 and P#8 to P#8.

In practise welding the same base metals would use a different filler and other WPS/PRQ. Using the above WPS/PRQ would be a but odd, but could you?

As a fellow Kiwi a little bit disappointed you asked a pretty basic question that is clearly identified in QW 424.1.
As I got hammered into me many times - read the code, then read it again, then ask questions,
