Has anyone had any experience with powerfloating a waffle slab? the slab is 450mm thick and the topping above the voidformer is 125mm thick. Is 125mm not too thin to powerfloat? i'll appreciate your comments.

What would make it too thin to powerfloat, JacksPanic? I can't think of a single reason why a five inch thick slab could not be powerfloated, but maybe you will convince me otherwise.

I cannot convince you otherwise because I agree with you. The builder seems to doubt it though. He says the top will end up being "wavy" over the void formers and ribs.

The only reason you could get a "wavy" surface is if the ribs are not adequately compacted, thus allowing for plastic settlement. Make sure the ribs are vibrated thoroughly, then the finishing should be routine.
