I have a 100,000 square foot facility 30 feet high, that has sloping floors. I need to make it level for racking systems and to be able to run a fork lift that can unrack at a height of 28 feet. One way is to put crushed stone over the existing floor area and pour at least a 6" slab over it to get the proper floor load ratio for this use. The problem is it will cost me $4.00 per square foot or $400,000. Are there any other materials or methods that I can use to make the job less expensive without sacrificing the floor load ratio or the longevety of the floor.

Thank you

You could use a bonded topping slab on the existing slab. This involves preparing the existing surface by shotblasting and then placing the topping slab, perhaps 2 to 3 inches thick, over the existing. New control joints should match the existing control joints.
