Hello,

I am designing a post-installed concrete screw anchor as per ACI 318-11. This particular screw anchor is not approved by ICC-ES (International Code Council- Evaluation Service).
Is it mandatory to use ICC-ES approved anchors when ACI 318 is the governing code?

Regards,
Su

ACI 311-18 doesn't require the use of ICC-ES approved anchors. However, Appendix D does have limitations on anchor diameter. The purpose of the ICC-ES report is to show the anchor does or doesn't do what the manufacturer claims.

Thank you bridgebuster!

Regards,
Su
