How can I solve the reactions for a portal frame that has fixed bases, it's height is 14ft, its width is 10ft, and the applied nodal load is 7.75k applied at the top left corner of the portal frame?

I would like to calculate the shear, axial, and moment reactions at both bases. I am confused on how to find the axial and the moment reactions particularly.

Thank you,

It is statically indeterminate, so you will need a method beyond statics. Look for one of the following in a structural analysis book. Pick the one that seems easiest to you.

Force method. Also known as method of consistent deformations. Also known as the flexibility method.

Slope deflection.

Moment distribution.

Direct stiffness method. Also known as matrix structural analysis.

For an approximate solution, look up Portal Method. It would be very fast and easy.
