dear all,
my problem as follows:
i have 4 CAT Gensets of 1600kw, synced by comap panel, 1 of them works fine with load when not synced with the other 3, but when it is synced, all gensets get shutdown after few minutes.... comap has remotly assisted us and said everything seems in order with parameters and setpoints and it is a genset issue not the panel..
genset mech status is good as this genset was overhauled recently.

what do u recommend guys. plz help.

thanks

Do you have one or more governors running in isochronous mode?

To give you a better answer you will need to provide a LOT more info about your problem and system.

First question, what fault condition are the units shutting down on? If its happening while in parallel is it related to kW or VAR control?

You said "one of them works fine" when operating standalone, what about the other three units? Does each one operate as expected when running with load by itself?

What kind of engines? What governing? At that kW rating most likely an engine with electronic controls and the governing done in the ECM, but may also be old dog 3500 series mechanical units, so details on them would help.

Details about your ComAp controls. Is it a genset controller per engine networked together like an Inteligen? Or are you trying to use a single controller to parallel multiple units? Details would help, ComAp has a lot of different offering and how they are applied.

Are the units paralleled with a grid, or just to each other in an island mode of operation?

What kind of loads are you carrying? Is it a mine site, oil/gas site, what?

More info will get you better answers, MikeL.
