If you are using Lidar data points in the XYZ or PFL model and have thousands or millions of data points, you can deactivate or remove the points outside of a certain width. I hear that a 64 bit OS will allow PLS to manipulate much larger files quicker if you have 8Gb of ram.

There are quite a few options for filtering out data points. The two most useful are filtering out x of 10 points of a certain type or filtering out all points of the same type with x feet.
