Dears,
What methods are used to correct Elastic FEA results, when stresses are above the yield stresses. One commonly quoted method is Neuber Method. I appreciate your help by refereeing to the material/literature with examples, describing the step by step procedure of correcting the Elastic FEA stresses for plasticity.

Thanks a lot for help.

Neuber’s rule is definitely the most popular method but there are also less known approaches such as Glinka’s method and Seeger-Heuler method. Some are modifications of Neuber’s rule. When it comes to literature I recommend:
- the book „Metal Fatigue Analysis Handbook: Practical Problem-solving Techniques for Computer-Aided Engineering” by Yung-Li Lee et al.
- the paper „Generalized Application of Neuber’s Rule” T. Seeger and P. Heuler
- the paper „Elasto-plastic stress and strain behaviour at notch roots under monotonic and cyclic loadings” by Z. Zeng et al.
- the paper „Validation of Stress Concentration Factor and Estimation of Local Stresses Beyond Yield Point of the Material for Notched Specimens” by V.K. Khatawate et al.
- the thesis „A Study On The Use Of Neuber’s Rule In Fatigue Crack Initiation Predictions” by S.K. Visvanatha
- documentation of fatigue FEA software
