Hi,

To calculate proportions by weight of a plaster mix 1 : 4 by volume we need to multiply the dry densities of cement & sand with the volume proportions. How much cubic of fresh plaster mix does it give you after mixing with water say W/C = 0.45 ?

Absolute vol method of calculating the proportions will lead to erreneous proportions by vol.

We need a fresh plaster mix of 1 cubic meter batched by weight and proportioned by volume in 1:4 ratio with W/C = 0.45. Your comments plz...

Is this an interior or exterior plaster and are you using portland cement and sand?

Make it easy. Mix three trial batches and measure the volume. average them. If you want a better number mix three more. Hint. They don't need to be 1 cubic yard batches.
