Pinch Valves?

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with pinch valves? My company currently uses ball valves to control the flow of ceramic slurries but due to the abrasive nature of the ceramic, we are finding the ball valves are wearing down. I have heard good things about pinch valves with ceramic/abrasive media and was hoping someone could suggest a manufacturer that they have had a good experience with. Thanks.

We had mixed results with pinch valves. Actuate them gently, never over-pressure them, and realize that the lining has limited cycle life.
Are you using ceramic trim in your ball valves? Do that first, and only use them open or closed, never throttle. If you need flow control use spill back lines with various fixed orifices in them.
