Pin holes are not made by, or for, pins.
They are manufacturing defects.
When a pinholed valve is filled with fluid and pressurized, the fluid squirts out.
In most services, that would be a bad thing.
In a refinery, that would be A Really Bad Thing.
Worse, pinholes don't travel alone.
If there's one, there will be more.
Repair the pinhole you find, and later on, the pinhole that you didn't find will open up and squirt out the contents.
Again, in a refinery, that would be A Really Bad Thing.
The best thing to do is throw away the pinholed valve, and all of its brothers as well, and go buy some proper valves.
