Physical properties in variable table

Can I get/show a physical property for a part in the variable table? I would like to use a sensor to track the body volume.

the volume is not available in a varibale, you may have
to write an addin or macro that creates one.

I found info for custom sensor which uses a user created .dll file. I think I can manage that. Thanks.
