Hi,

Can anyone explain how to apply periodic boundary conditions to a unit cell model in Abaqus. I understand how the unit cell should deform but don't know how to apply the conditions. I think it should be done using the *equation keyword. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes. You need to use *Equation keyword. Create an input file using any text editor with all the required equations. Go to 'Model-edit keywords' and add a line pointing to the file using *Equation, INPUT=filename.
